A recent study by the University of Helsinki has revealed that ultra-processed junk foods—such as soft drinks, chips and packaged meats—not only cause weight gain but also inflict serious harm on the brain.
Researchers analyzed brain scans of over 30,000 people who frequently consumed these foods. The findings showed cell damage, inflammation and structural changes in the brain.
Even more alarming, scientists discovered that these foods “reprogram” the brain, making it crave the same unhealthy items repeatedly. This vicious cycle keeps people trapped in poor eating habits, leading to long-term health issues like obesity, anxiety, and cognitive decline.
Experts urge people to limit ultra-processed food consumption and focus on fresh, natural, and home-cooked meals to protect brain health.
