Cancer is a serious and life-threatening disease that often goes undetected until later stages. It occurs when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body. In India, many people rely on home remedies to prevent or treat cancer, and one common belief is that eating a clove of garlic daily can reduce cancer risk. While garlic is rich in nutrients and antioxidants, experts clarify that there is no scientific evidence proving that it can cure or completely prevent cancer.
However, garlic does offer several health benefits. It contains compounds like allicin and sulfur elements that have antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties, which support overall health. Some studies suggest that regular consumption of garlic may slightly reduce the risk of certain cancers such as stomach and colorectal cancer. Additionally, garlic helps boost immunity, regulate blood pressure, and lower bad cholesterol levels. Despite these benefits, experts emphasize that garlic should not be considered a standalone treatment for cancer.
