

Masala Chitrannam is a widely loved and flavorful rice dish known for its tangy taste and rich aroma. This delicious recipe combines lemon juice with freshly ground coconut masala, making it a perfect choice for a quick meal. It can be enjoyed as a lunchbox recipe or a light evening meal, offering both taste and nutrition.
To prepare, take one cup of cooked rice, two tablespoons oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, chana dal, peanuts, cashews, chopped onion, green chilies, curry leaves, salt, lemon juice, and grated coconut. Prepare a masala paste by grinding coconut, dried red chilies, roasted coriander seeds, turmeric, and water. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin, dals, and fry well. Then add peanuts, cashews, curry leaves, and green chilies. Add the prepared masala paste and cook until the raw smell disappears. Finally, mix salt, lemon juice, and cooked rice, ensuring the masala coats evenly. The dish can be paired with spicy dal for enhanced taste.
