Vijay is set to enter the record books as one of the few Indian leaders to have a film released while serving as Chief Minister. Following the legacy of M.G. Ramachandran and N.T. Rama Rao, Vijay's much-awaited film Jana Nayagan is scheduled to hit theatres on July 24. However, the film has received an 'A' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, impacting plans for special screenings aimed at younger audiences.
Reportedly inspired by the Telugu hit Bhagavanth Kesari, the film has undergone major changes, with the second half, villain track, and flashback sequences being extensively reworked. Industry reports also suggest that the climax has been designed on a grand scale. Despite the censor classification, the film is expected to create a strong impact at the Tamil Nadu and overseas box office.
