The announcement of NTR's upcoming pan-India film God of War has generated widespread discussion across social media. While the film has attracted attention nationwide, the debate has been particularly intense among Tamil audiences. The discussion began after the makers' promotional post referred to Lord Kumaraswamy as a deity who is widely worshipped in South India despite having origins in North India. The wording sparked mixed reactions, with several users expressing differing opinions online.
Many social media users from Tamil Nadu stated that Lord Murugan (Kumaraswamy) is deeply connected to Tamil culture and traditions. At the same time, others pointed out that, according to Hindu mythology, Kumaraswamy is the son of Lord Shiva, whose abode is believed to be the Himalayas, making the makers' reference understandable. The discussion has continued across social media platforms, while the makers have not issued any official clarification regarding the debate.
