Fans are eagerly awaiting ‘Jailer 2’, starring Rajinikanth and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The makers have already announced October 15 as the film’s release date. However, doubts are now emerging over whether the movie will arrive on the scheduled date. Although there has been no official confirmation, reports of a possible postponement are circulating in Chennai film circles. Meanwhile, Mythri Movie Makers is reportedly planning to release ‘Ranabali’ on October 16. The Venkatesh-Trivikram project ‘Adarsha Kutumbam AK 47’ is also said to be considering a release around the same period, potentially increasing the competition at the box office.
Reports that certain portions of ‘Jailer 2’ may require re-shoots have added to the postponement speculation. Some scenes involving political elements are reportedly being modified, while business agreements for the film are also said to be pending. The producers are reportedly expecting a substantial amount for the Telugu rights. The recently released special song featuring Poorna has also received a mixed response. With the release date approaching, the makers may need to accelerate the promotional activities. A clear picture on the release date is expected only after the final work is completed and Sun Pictures makes an official announcement.
