Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s Irumudi is continuing its successful run at the box office. However, the upcoming release of Yash’s Toxic has sparked a discussion over theatre allocation. As theatres generally increase the number of screenings for films that generate stronger advance demand and audience interest, Toxic is reportedly being allotted a significant number of screens amid high expectations surrounding the film. This could result in a reduction in the number of shows currently allocated to Irumudi.
Theatre allocation at Ravi Teja’s ART Cinemas has particularly drawn attention. According to reports, Toxic has been allotted 10 shows at the venue, while Irumudi has five shows. The allocation reflects the strong pre-release buzz surrounding Yash’s film, but it should not be viewed as a final indication of either movie’s box-office performance. Theatre owners can revise show counts depending on advance bookings, occupancy and audience demand after release.
