An actor’s impact on a film is not always determined by the length of their role. Shruti Haasan, known for her bold choices and glamorous screen presence, has demonstrated her versatility through lead roles as well as special dance numbers. Now, reports suggest that she may be preparing to take on a special role in another much-anticipated Tamil film. Director Pa. Ranjith, known for the distinctive narrative style of Thangalaan, is currently working on Vettuvan. Jointly produced by Neelam Productions and Golden Ratio Films, the project features Attakathi Dinesh as the lead actor and Arya as the antagonist. Ashok Selvan, Kalaiyarasan, Vignesh and Fahadh Faasil are also part of the cast, while Sobhita Dhulipala plays the female lead.
Set against the backdrop of North Chennai, Vettuvan revolves around the world of gangsters, and its shooting is reportedly nearing completion. The makers recently introduced the film’s characters through a feature titled Word of Vettuvan. Reports also suggest that a few scenes are being reshot. Meanwhile, speculation about Shruti Haasan appearing in a special role has been gaining attention on social media. Her character is reportedly expected to play a significant part in the narrative, although the makers have not officially confirmed the development. Separately, Train, starring Shruti Haasan opposite Vijay Sethupathi, is scheduled for release on December 4.
