Sai Pallavi to be paired with Rajinikanth in Thalaivar 173

Tamil cinema's two pillars, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, have earlier delivered nearly 11 super hit films together. Later, due to their massive superstar image, both continued to act separately. Now, after a long gap of several decades, these two legends are finally ready to share the screen once again. However, before that big multi-starrer, Kamal Haasan is producing a film under his Raajkamal Films International (RKFI) banner in which Rajinikanth will play the lead role (#Thalaivar173). Initially, Sundar C was announced as the director. But unexpectedly, Sundar C walked out of this crazy project citing creative differences, leaving everyone shocked.

The latest buzz is that Ramkumar Balakrishnan, who won the National Award for Best Director for the film Parking, is now going to direct #Thalaivar173. Reports say Rajinikanth has already given his green signal to the script. This big-budget film is expected to star Sai Pallavi as the female lead and actor Kathir (of Bigil fame) in a crucial role. Music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Pre-production work has begun, and an official announcement is likely to drop on Rajinikanth’s birthday (December 12, 2025). The movie is aiming for a Pongal 2027 release. And after this film wraps up, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are reportedly set to team up for a proper two-hero multi-starrer project.
