The pan-world film Varanasi, directed by legendary filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli and starring superstar Mahesh Babu, has already become one of the most anticipated projects. Global star Priyanka Chopra plays the female lead and her inclusion has taken the movie’s hype to a new level. Recently, reports about her massive remuneration have become a hot topic in the film industry.
According to sources, Priyanka Chopra is being paid a record-breaking ₹30 crores for Varanasi. If true, this makes her the highest-paid actress in Indian cinema. While top Bollywood actresses usually earn around ₹10 crores per film, Priyanka’s global fame and Hollywood success reportedly justify her huge paycheck.
In the film, Mahesh Babu plays “Rudra”, Priyanka portrays “Mandakini” and Prithviraj Sukumaran appears as the antagonist. The story spans from 2000 BC to 2027, making it an epic-scale adventure. Directed by Rajamouli and shot in IMAX format, Varanasi is expected to set new standards in visual storytelling.
