A prestigious biopic on legendary Carnatic vocalist and Bharat Ratna awardee MS Subbulakshmi is reportedly taking shape, and Rashmika Mandanna’s name is now being linked to the lead role. Sai Pallavi was initially said to be under consideration for the character, but reports suggest that she may have stepped away from the project due to scheduling issues. If confirmed, portraying MS Subbulakshmi would be one of the most challenging roles of Rashmika’s career.
The film is reportedly being produced jointly by Rockline Venkatesh, Allu Aravind and Bunny Vasu, with Gautham Tinnanuri set to direct. The makers are said to be planning an official announcement on September 16, coinciding with MS Subbulakshmi’s birth anniversary. Further details about the cast, story and production are expected to be revealed on the same day. If Rashmika takes on the role, her ability to capture the legendary singer’s personality, grace and artistic presence will be closely watched.
Note: The casting and other project details mentioned in this report are based on circulating industry reports and await official confirmation from the filmmakers.
