The film industry is currently facing a difficult phase. From Tollywood to Bollywood, many producers are struggling financially. Even though some movies collect over ₹1000 crores, high actor salaries and rising production costs are reducing profits for producers. In addition, censor issues and copyright disputes are creating more tension. In such situations, when some star heroes delay shoots or suddenly leave projects, it adds more burden on producers.
Amid these challenges, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is once again in the news. Recently, he faced criticism for imitating a divine scene from the Kannada hit film Kantara Chapter 1. A case was filed and the matter is scheduled for court hearing. He was also criticized for reportedly using three vanity vans during the shooting of his blockbuster film Dhurandhar.
Now, another controversy has surfaced. Producer - director Farhan Akhtar had announced Don 3 with Ranveer Singh in 2023, with plans for a 2025 release. Even after completing pre-production work, the film has not started. Reports say that Ranveer has stepped away from the project, causing financial loss to the producer. As per Bollywood media reports, Farhan Akhtar has allegedly demanded ₹40 crore as compensation. However, an official confirmation from both sides is still awaited.
