The 2026 Dasara release race is witnessing a major reshuffle. Films such as Jailer 2, Viswambhara and Adarsha Kutumbam were initially expected to create a strong box-office clash. However, delays in visual effects work have reportedly pushed Chiranjeevi’s Viswambhara out of the race, while uncertainty continues over the release date of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2.

Amid these developments, Vijay Deverakonda and director Rahul Sankrityan’s period action drama Ranabali has officially been announced for October 16, 2026. The film, set in the 19th century, is expected to be a key project for Vijay. His pairing with Rashmika Mandanna after their marriage has also added to the buzz around the movie. If other major releases move away from the Dasara window, Ranabali could get a wider theatrical space during the festive holidays, potentially giving Vijay a strong opportunity to make a comeback.
