Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s period action drama Ranabaali has opened in theatres with a reported worldwide gross of ₹16.50 crore on its first day, October 16. According to trade website Sacnilk, the film collected ₹9.25 crore in India net and ₹10.75 crore in domestic gross. Its overseas gross is estimated at ₹5.75 crore.
The film also recorded an overall theatre occupancy of 57% on its opening day. The Telugu 2D version registered 67.92% occupancy during night shows, indicating stronger audience turnout later in the day. Compared with Vijay Deverakonda’s previous films, Ranabaali opened below Liger, Kushi and Kingdom, but reportedly surpassed The Family Star in first-day collections.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali is a period action drama set against the backdrop of the Great Madras Famine of 1876–78 and British colonial rule. Vijay plays Ranabaali, while Rashmika portrays Jayamma. With weekend collections expected to offer a clearer picture of its box-office performance, attention is now on whether the film can sustain audience interest and increase its earnings over the coming days.
