Rajinikanth’s ‘Dharman’ Sparks Buzz Ahead of Chennai Shoot

Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Dharman is generating considerable interest ahead of its production. The film is being directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International. Rajinikanth is reportedly set to portray a doctor, while the recently unveiled first-look poster carrying the tagline “The Deadly Doctor” has further raised expectations. The project had earlier been linked to filmmakers Sundar C and Cibi Chakaravarthi before Ashwath Marimuthu was finalised as the director. His distinctive approach to storytelling has added curiosity about how he will present Rajinikanth in this unusual role.

The shooting of Dharman is scheduled to begin in Chennai on August 11. The team is reportedly planning an accelerated production schedule with an aim to bring the film to theatres as a Sankranti 2027 release. Raashi Khanna is set to play a key role, while Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music. Although details about Rajinikanth’s character remain under wraps, the first-look poster has already created significant buzz among fans.
