Prabhas’ upcoming film The Raja Saab was initially set to release in April 2025 but has now been postponed to January 2026 due to repeated production delays.
Producer TG Vishwa Prasad from People Media Factory revealed that the main reason behind the delay was a VFX supervisor who failed to deliver work on time and allegedly demanded extra money from the team.
In an interview with NTV, Vishwa explained that the supervisor didn’t complete any shots until October 2024, forcing them to postpone the release. Though he didn’t reveal the name, social media users speculated it could be Kamal Kannan.
He also mentioned that the same person had worked briefly on SS Rajamouli’s SSMB29 but was later removed due to poor performance. Reportedly, the supervisor prioritized big projects like Pushpa 2, neglecting The Raja Saab.
Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab is a horror comedy featuring Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar. The film is now set to hit theaters on January 9, 2026.
