An interesting discussion is underway in the film industry over the reported OTT deals of four major films. According to industry buzz, efforts are being made to revisit the digital rights agreement for Fauji following delays to the film. Meanwhile, there is speculation that the advance amount related to the OTT deal for Varanasi is yet to be received. Reports also suggest that Dragon and Raaka have received OTT proposals below ₹200 crore. However, none of these reported figures or developments has been officially confirmed.
For Raaka, which is reportedly being made on a massive budget of nearly ₹700 crore, a proposal below ₹200 crore is said to have raised concerns over the film's business calculations. With production costs continuing to rise, a lower value for digital rights could affect the overall revenue structure of big-budget films. Discussions are also continuing over the reported changes to Fauji's deal and the advance payment issue surrounding Varanasi. However, the reported OTT figures and deal details concerning Fauji, Varanasi, Dragon and Raaka remain unverified. The actual picture is expected to become clear only after the final agreements are concluded.
