Raghava Lawrence in the beginning, he was known only as a talented choreographer. Just when he was at the peak of his choreography career, he made his debut as an actor. That wasn’t too surprising. But a few years later, when he turned director, it gave everyone a huge shock. Even a star hero with sharp judgment like Akkineni Nagarjuna trusted him and produced a film under his own banner. That movie, Mass, became a big hit and justified Nagarjuna’s faith in him.
Later, Lawrence created a massive sensation with the Kanchana horror-comedy series. However, after Kanchana 3, he took a long break. A few months ago, he finally began shooting for Kanchana 4. Many wondered whether this film would generate any hype, since horror comedies had gone out of trend and Lawrence had been inactive as a director for quite some time. But Lawrence once again proved that his brand value in the horror-comedy genre is on another level.
Even before the shooting was completed, Kanchana 4 reportedly closed massive business deals. The digital rights alone fetched around ₹50 crore across all languages. What’s more interesting is that the Hindi rights were sold for over ₹50 crore! Every Kanchana film has received an amazing response in Hindi-dubbed versions. In fact, audiences preferred Lawrence’s Kanchana versions more than Akshay Kumar’s Hindi remake.
So, naturally, Kanchana 4 has a high demand in Hindi as well. The film stars Pooja Hegde and Nora Fatehi as the female leads, adding extra glamour and appeal. Another highlight is that Goldmines Films the company known for dubbing and releasing South Indian films in Hindi is involved in the project’s production. That explains the strong Hindi market response. Earning ₹100 crore even before completing the shoot clearly shows that Raghava Lawrence is no ordinary filmmaker!
