‘Jailer 2’ Generates Huge Buzz; Telugu Theatrical Rights Become Major Talking Point

Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film Jailer 2, the sequel to the blockbuster Jailer, has created significant excitement across the Telugu states. Following the phenomenal box-office success of the first installment, several leading distribution companies are reportedly competing to acquire the Telugu theatrical rights. According to industry reports, Sun Pictures has quoted a record price for the rights, prompting distributors to evaluate the deal carefully before reaching a final agreement.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 has reportedly completed its principal shoot and is being prepared for a worldwide release on October 15, 2026, coinciding with the Dasara festive season. The film features music by Anirudh Ravichander, while S. J. Suryah is expected to play a key role. Reports have also suggested that the digital rights have been sold for a substantial amount. Separately, there has been speculation about a special appearance by Hrithik Roshan, but no official confirmation has been made by the makers.
