Music director Thaman S has shown many times that he can create magical music. However, this spark is now seen only in a few projects. This year, apart from Daaku Maharaaj and OG, his music has not made a strong or lasting impact. Even a big film like Akhanda 2 did not impress musically, as its songs failed to connect with the audience. The songs released so far from The Rajasaab, have also not created the energy and freshness usually expected from a star hero film.
Many feel that Thaman is taking on too many films at the same time, which may be affecting the quality of his work. There is also talk that he is doing some films without charging a fee and instead focusing on earning through audio rights as a music producer, especially for small and medium films. While this may help in the short term, it could slowly reduce creativity.
Thaman’s name itself is a strong brand built on hit songs. If memorable music stops coming, that brand value may fade and even audio companies might lower their offers. To enjoy a long and respected career, focusing on quality over quantity and choosing projects carefully is very important.
