In the historical epic, Vivek Oberoi as Shivaji’s enemy and Shefali Shah as his mother – expectations sky-high!

Kannada star hero Rishab Shetty is currently working on two major projects “Kantara Chapter 1,” a prequel to his blockbuster Kantara, and another historical epic titled “The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.” This upcoming film is based on the life story of the great Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and is being directed by Sandeep Singh of “Safed” fame. Sandeep Singh, who has previously produced several successful Bollywood films, is now taking the director’s seat for this ambitious project.

Recently, Sandeep Singh officially announced the core technical team of The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Speaking about the project, he stated that exceptionally talented professionals from editing, cinematography, and music departments are working on the film. He added.This is not just a film it’s the story of a warrior who fought against inequality and dared to challenge the mighty Mughal Empire. Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi is set to play the role of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, while acclaimed actress Shefali Shah is reportedly portraying the role of Jijabai, Shivaji Maharaj’s mother.

The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on January 21, 2027, in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, and Bengali languages simultaneously. The film’s script is penned by Siddharth–Garima, music is composed by Pritam, and cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman.
