After the success of Amaran, actor Sivakarthikeyan has seen a sharp rise in his popularity and market value. Instead of asking for a fixed salary, the actor is now reportedly choosing a profit-sharing model for his films. According to reports in Kollywood, he already followed this approach for some of his recent projects and is planning to continue the same strategy for his upcoming movie as well.
Currently, Sivakarthikeyan is working on the film Seyaan, which is being produced by legendary actor Kamal Haasan under the banner Raaj Kamal Films International. This will be Sivakarthikeyan’s second film with the production house after Amaran. The movie will also introduce Sivakumar Murugesan as a director. The title “Seyaan” is another name associated with Lord Murugan. Music for the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
Reports suggest that Sivakarthikeyan has not demanded a huge upfront salary for this film. Instead, he has taken an advance of around ₹10 crore and asked for a 70% share of the film’s profits after its release. The remaining 30% will go to the production banner. The film is said to be made on a budget of about ₹35 crore and it will be interesting to see its pre-release business and box office performance.
