Here’s Why Lokesh Chose to Move Ahead with Allu Arjun Instead of the LCU

Lokesh Kanagaraj is closely associated with the LCU, with fans eagerly awaiting projects such as Kaithi 2, Vikram 2 and Rolex. However, the director has reportedly decided to take up AA23 with Allu Arjun first. One of the major reasons is said to be his long standing commitment to Mythri Movie Makers, which reportedly paid him an advance nearly six years ago. Lokesh has also previously revealed that he had wanted to work with Allu Arjun for a long time.

These factors are believed to have paved the way for AA23. The delay in Kaithi 2 is reportedly linked partly to Karthi’s other film commitments. Lokesh had also spent some time working on a proposed Rajinikanth-Kamal Haasan project, which did not move forward. With that project stalled, he is said to have used the available window to begin AA23. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Its announcement video hinted at a forest, horses and animals, creating curiosity around the project. Lokesh has already indicated that Kaithi 2 will follow the Allu Arjun film.
