Dulquer’s Film Delayed.. When Is the New Release Date?

Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming action thriller ‘I Am Game’ is generating considerable buzz. Directed by ‘RDX’ fame Nahas Hidayath, the film stars Kalyani? No—Kayadu Lohar as the female lead, with Antony Varghese, Mysskin, Kathir and Samyuktha Viswanathan in key roles. The teaser, posters and songs have already received a positive response. The film was originally scheduled to release on August 20 during the Onam season. However, reports now suggest that the release could be postponed, reportedly due to delays in completing the post-production work.

The strong competition at the box office is also being discussed as a possible factor. Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Khalifa’ and Mamitha Baiju’s ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ are also expected around the same period, while Yash’s big-ticket film ‘Toxic’ is scheduled within a week. With theatre availability becoming a concern, the makers are reportedly considering a better solo release window. The team is said to be planning to complete post-production first, followed by an extensive promotional campaign before announcing a new release date. However, an official confirmation regarding the postponement is still awaited.
