Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are planning a big and exciting film, with Kamal Haasan producing it under the Raj Kamal Film International banner. Initially, Sundar C was announced as the director and the pooja ceremony was held grandly. Photos from the event went viral on social media. However, Sundar C unexpectedly stepped away from the project, which created a lot of discussion. Kamal Haasan later clarified that Rajinikanth was not fully satisfied with the story, which led to this decision.
Later, it was widely reported that Ramkumar, who won a National Award for the film Parking, would direct Rajinikanth’s 173rd movie. Many believed the film would go on floors soon. After Parking, Ramkumar had committed to direct a film with Simbu as the lead actor. Reports said he wanted to finish the Rajinikanth film first and then work on the Simbu project.
However, it is said that the head of Don Pictures, who planned to produce the Simbu film, did not agree to this change. Because of this, reports now suggest that Ramkumar has also stepped away from the Rajinikanth project. Recently, the name of Dragon director Ashwath Marimuthu has come into the spotlight. There is speculation that he may direct Rajinikanth’s 173rd film. Whether this will be the final decision or not remains to be seen.
