‘DC’, featuring Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj in his acting debut, is receiving an encouraging response at the box office. Directed by Arun Matheswaran and produced by Sun Pictures, with music by Anirudh Ravichander, the film opened without extensive promotional hype but earned positive talk from its premieres. Collections picked up from the second day in both Tamil Nadu and the Telugu states.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Lokesh Kanagaraj was not the first choice to play the lead. Director Arun Matheswaran had reportedly approached Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda with the story first. However, Vijay is said to have declined the project as its character and storyline were similar to those of films he was already working on. The opportunity then reportedly went to Lokesh. An old video featuring Vijay has now gone viral, sparking discussions among fans about what the film might have looked like if he had accepted it.
