Megastar Chiranjeevi once again proved his box office power with the massive success of Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, directed by Anil Ravipudi. The film collected over ₹400 crore, creating a rare record among senior heroes. With this blockbuster, expectations around Chiranjeevi’s upcoming projects have increased significantly. Reports suggest that he has shown interest in working with directors Srikanth Odela and Bobby. According to industry buzz, Chiranjeevi is likely to team up with Bobby for his 158th film, following their earlier hit Waltair Veerayya.
Mega 158 is planned as a high-budget pan-India film, with leading Kannada production house KVN Productions involved. However, due to budget and scheduling factors, another production partner may join the project. Director Bobby is said to be focusing on presenting Chiranjeevi with his trademark style, including strong comedy, dance and action elements. Social media is abuzz with rumors that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal may appear in a key role. There is also talk that either Sreeleela, Anaswara Rajan or Sara Arjun could play Chiranjeevi’s daughter. The film is expected to release during Sankranthi 2027.
Meanwhile, senior actress Priyamani is reportedly finalized as the female lead opposite Chiranjeevi. Having already acted with Balakrishna, Venkatesh and Nagarjuna, this will mark her first on-screen pairing with Chiranjeevi. Currently busy with films and web series across multiple languages, this role is seen as a major milestone in her career. Industry sources claim that Priyamani has been offered a remuneration between ₹1.5 to ₹2 crore, along with additional facilities, which could be the highest pay of her career. An official confirmation is awaited to know how much of this buzz turns out to be true.
