Rashmika Mandanna’s The Girlfriend – Major Pre-release Business Before Theatrical Launch!

Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming film The Girlfriend has achieved remarkable business even before its release. According to trade sources, the movie earned around ₹7 crores through Hindi dubbing and satellite rights combined, while the audio rights were sold for ₹3 crores. Most notably, the digital streaming rights of the film have been acquired by OTT giant Netflix for a whopping ₹14 crores, making the producers enter the safe zone even before the film’s release, as per trade analysts. The Censor Board has already granted the film a U/A certificate, and its runtime is confirmed to be 2 hours and 18 minutes.

OTT Release Date:

As per the agreement, The Girlfriend will premiere on Netflix four weeks after its theatrical release. Hence, the movie is expected to begin streaming in the first week of December. However, depending on its theatrical run, the OTT release could be advanced or delayed.

Sudheer Babu’s Mythological Horror Comedy Jatadhara Creates Buzz!

Given the growing audience interest in mythological and horror-comedy genres, actor Sudheer Babu has taken up this space with Jatadhara. The film revolves around wealth, curses, and hidden treasures, blending myth and mystery. Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha plays a key role in the movie, which has helped generate strong pre-release hype. According to trade reports, Jatadhara has made around ₹6 crores from its theatrical and non-theatrical rights in the Telugu states. To achieve a break-even, the film is estimated to require ₹8 crores in gross collections.

Jatadhara OTT Details:

The digital rights of Jatadhara have been bagged by leading OTT platform ZEE5. As per the agreement, the film will start streaming four weeks after its theatrical release in South Indian languages. However, the Hindi version will stream six weeks later. This means the Telugu version will likely release on ZEE5 in the first week of December, while the Hindi version may arrive by the end of December. Depending on the film’s theatrical performance, the OTT release date may be adjusted earlier or later. ZEE5 is expected to issue an official update soon.
