Superstar Mahesh Babu and visionary director S.S. Rajamouli’s upcoming big-budget film “Varanasi” has already created massive buzz across India and globally. After Baahubali and RRR, this is Rajamouli’s next magnum opus and Mahesh Babu’s first-ever collaboration with the ace filmmaker, making fans’ excitement skyrocket.
Reports on social media claim that the movie’s budget could touch ₹1500 crores, though there is no official confirmation yet. Bollywood-Hollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is rumored to play the female lead as Mandakini, while Prithviraj Sukumaran will appear as Kumbha and R. Madhavan as Hanumanthu.
Adding to the excitement, Mahesh Babu is said to be playing not one or two, but five different roles in the film, with the main one named Rudra. Rajamouli has previously hinted that Mahesh will be portrayed in a divine avatar similar to Lord Rama. The movie’s shooting is progressing rapidly and the makers plan to release it worldwide in summer 2027.
