Director Maruthi faced a major setback this Sankranti with The Raja Saab, which ended as a big disappointment at the box office. The film had strong buzz before release, especially due to Prabhas, but failed to meet audience expectations. As a result, Maruthi received heavy criticism and trolling on social media, raising questions about his next project.
Despite the failure, reports suggest that Maruthi is already preparing for another film. Earlier, rumors hinted at a project with a mega hero, possibly Varun Tej or Ram Pothineni, though those claims were later dismissed. Now, fresh buzz says Maruthi has readied a comedy script titled “Happy Pongal” and is currently searching for a suitable hero. There is talk that the film might aim for a Sankranti release.
Meanwhile, it is also being said that Prabhas has given moral support to Maruthi despite the failure. Known for delivering decent comedy films with mid-range heroes, Maruthi is reportedly planning a comeback in his favorite genre. How much of this buzz turns out to be true remains to be seen.
