According to political gossip, the Congress high command has asked Minister Konda Surekha to resign from her Cabinet post. She was reportedly warned that if she does not submit her resignation by the evening, a dismissal letter could be sent to Lok Bhavan. Surekha is reportedly likely to resign before Chief Minister Revanth Reddy returns from Delhi. She is said to have decided that resigning voluntarily would be better than facing dismissal.
Mallikarjun Kharge reportedly advised Surekha to resign from the ministerial post, warning that otherwise the party would have to proceed with her dismissal and asking her not to let the situation reach that stage. Her request for reconsideration reportedly did not bring any relief. Political circles are also discussing that Surekha may be considering resigning from the party as well, as she reportedly feels that continuing in the party after stepping down as a minister would be humiliating.
