YSRCP Files House Motion Petition in High Court

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court by filing a house motion petition over alleged incidents of violence during the state’s local body elections. In its petition, the party challenged the single judge’s orders concerning the use of CCTV cameras and webcasting during the election process.

The petition referred to incidents reported during the nomination process in Tirupati, Kadapa and Pulivendula. The YSRCP sought adequate security for its candidates and urged the court to direct the authorities to deploy paramilitary forces to prevent further untoward incidents and ensure a secure election process.
