The Telangana government has commenced power generation from the fifth unit of the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant. On Wednesday, engineers from Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (GENCO) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) synchronised Unit 5 and connected it to the power grid. The development marks a significant step forward in bringing the plant’s final generating unit into operation.
With the fifth unit becoming operational, the Yadadri Power Plant has reached its total installed generation capacity of 4,000 megawatts. The commissioning of all five units marks the completion of the plant’s planned generating capacity. The facility is expected to play an important role in meeting Telangana’s growing electricity demand and strengthening the state’s power supply infrastructure.
