Worship Seed Ganesha, Protect Nature: Chiranjeevi

Megastar Chiranjeevi has called upon people to worship eco-friendly Seed Ganesha idols this Vinayaka Chavithi and contribute to environmental protection. He said celebrating the festival with natural clay idols can help reduce water pollution caused by Plaster of Paris idols and chemical colours. Chiranjeevi unveiled the 2026 Seed Ganesha idols at his residence in Hyderabad in the presence of Green India Challenge founder and former MP Santosh Kumar. Praising Santosh Kumar’s efforts to promote greenery, Chiranjeevi said the Seed Ganesha concept combines devotion with environmental responsibility.

The Seed Ganesha idols are made using natural clay, cocopeat and coconut fibre, with seeds of indigenous trees such as neem and tamarind placed inside them. After the festival, devotees can immerse the idol in a pot or soil at home and water it, allowing the idol to dissolve and the seeds to germinate into plants. The initiative, which began during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, has since promoted eco-friendly celebrations and the planting of trees. The Green India Challenge says its campaign has so far helped facilitate the planting of around 19.6 crore trees. Chiranjeevi’s endorsement of the initiative is expected to take the Seed Ganesha message to a wider audience.
