BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) said the World Bank's recognition of Telangana as an Upper Middle Income economy reflects the visionary leadership and governance of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). He described the recognition as an international endorsement of Telangana's remarkable economic progress.
KTR stated that Telangana entered the World Bank's Upper Middle Income category for 2025-26 with a per capita income of ₹4.19 lakh (5,407 US dollars), becoming one of only five Indian states to achieve this milestone. He said the recognition highlights the state's rapid economic transformation over the past decade under KCR's leadership.
