The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially declared the end of the recent Hantavirus outbreak that had raised global concern over the past several weeks. The outbreak, which was linked to a cruise ship, had prompted health authorities to closely monitor those who had come into contact with infected individuals.
According to the WHO, the last identified close contact of the final confirmed patient has successfully completed the mandatory 42-day monitoring period and tested negative for the virus. With no new infections reported during the observation period, the global health body confirmed that the outbreak has officially come to an end, bringing relief after nearly two months of uncertainty.
