A total of 89,252 engineering seats, including the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) quota, will be available during the first phase of engineering counselling this year. The web options process will begin on Thursday and continue until July 1. According to EAPCET Admissions Convenor Sridevasena, 81,620 seats are available under the Convener Quota across 175 engineering colleges, while 7,632 EWS quota seats have been added, taking the total number of seats available for counselling to 89,252.
Including Convener, EWS and Management Quota, the state has 1,21,639 B.Tech seats this year. Officials said only five candidates among the top 100 EAPCET rank holders have registered for counselling, as most high-ranking students are expected to join IITs, NITs and IIITs. Meanwhile, admissions under the 30% Management Quota (Category-B) in private engineering colleges are scheduled to begin from June 29, with admissions to be made based on JEE Main ranks, followed by EAPCET ranks and Intermediate merit, as per government guidelines.
