The US House of Representatives has passed a resolution restraining President Donald Trump from initiating further military action against Iran without congressional approval. The war powers resolution was approved with a narrow 215–208 vote. Strongly reacting to the decision, Trump criticized lawmakers supporting the resolution, calling them “traitors” and terming the move unconstitutional.
According to the resolution, US forces must be withdrawn from the Persian Gulf unless Congress authorizes military action. Meanwhile, global tensions continue to rise, with a recent attack at Kuwait airport claiming the life of an Indian national and injuring 13 others. In another development, Hezbollah rejected a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, demanding a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces. Additionally, a UN peacekeeper from Serbia was killed in an attack in Lebanon, while two others were injured.
