

Visakhapatnam has once again proven its economic strength by securing the top position in Andhra Pradesh in terms of per capita income and district GDP for FY26 estimates. According to the latest projections, Visakhapatnam recorded the highest per capita income in the state at ₹6.58 lakh. Vijayawada region’s Krishna district followed with ₹4.81 lakh, while NTR district stood third with ₹3.91 lakh.
Visakhapatnam also led the state in Gross Domestic Product (GDP), registering an impressive ₹1.61 lakh crore. On the other hand, Polavaram remained at the bottom with a GDP of ₹6,831 crore. Districts such as Manyam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Kurnool were also among the lower-ranked regions in terms of economic performance. The figures highlight Visakhapatnam’s growing role as Andhra Pradesh’s major economic and industrial hub.
