Vizag International Airport workers have protested against the reported closure of the airport, expressing concern that the move could push thousands of families into financial uncertainty. Led by Telugu Shakti president B.V. Rama, the workers submitted a complaint to Airport Police Station Sub-Inspector C.H. Prasad on Wednesday morning. Later, women workers B. Jyothi, K. Chinnari and P. Radha spoke to the media and expressed deep distress over their situation, saying they could be pushed to take extreme steps if their concerns were not addressed.
The workers alleged that their livelihoods were affected despite having supported the current government through their votes. They claimed that Nara Lokesh had assured them of justice during his visit to Visakhapatnam, but that the assurance had not been fulfilled. They also alleged that Visakhapatnam MP Bharat had promised to support them but was now unavailable, while local MLA Ganababu had not paid attention to their concerns. The workers urged the government and elected representatives from North Andhra to intervene and provide clarity and relief.
