

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay delivered his first speech in the Legislative Assembly on May 12 during the inaugural session of the newly elected House. The session began after TVK MLA J.C.D. Prabhakar was elected unopposed as the Speaker of the Assembly, marking an important political moment in the state.
In his maiden address as Chief Minister, Vijay emphasized the importance of dignity, democracy, transparency and accountability in governance. He outlined his government’s priorities, including women’s safety, anti drug initiatives, law and order, youth welfare, farmer support and improved public services. He also highlighted the state’s financial situation, stressing responsible spending and transparency in public funds, while noting cordial interactions with opposition leaders during the session.
