A fresh development has emerged in the ongoing TDP–YSRCP dispute in Vijayawada, with a case being registered against former MLA Malladi Vishnu. On August 8, Vishnu led a relay hunger strike over alleged irregularities in the DSC recruitment process. Tension reportedly escalated when TDP MLA Bonda Uma arrived near the YSRCP protest camp, leading to a confrontation between the two sides.
Both groups approached the police with complaints following the incident. A case was registered based on a complaint filed by a woman identified as Parveen Shaikh. She alleged that she was attacked when she questioned the protestors about holding a road demonstration. In her complaint, she also alleged that she was assaulted and subjected to inappropriate behaviour.
