Vijay Mallya Says He Is Not Getting Justice

Vijay Mallya Says He Is Not Getting Justice

Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya has once again commented on India’s debt recovery system, claiming that he has not received justice. Referring to a report about a loan settlement involving media entrepreneur Subhash Chandra, Mallya posted his reaction on X. He congratulated Chandra if the reported settlement was accurate and questioned the differences in the amounts recovered from various borrowers.

According to the report cited in the article, the National Company Law Tribunal approved a settlement involving loans of around ₹22,006.57 crore for a payment of ₹6.5 crore. Mallya contrasted this with his own case, saying banks and the government had acknowledged recovering ₹14,100 crore from him against loans of ₹6,203 crore. He also alleged that banks recovered several times the loan amount in the Kingfisher Airlines case and had previously approached the Karnataka High Court seeking details of the recovery statements.
