Vijay Deverakonda Promotes Seed Ganesha for a Pollution-Free Ganesh Chaturthi

Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda has joined the Green India Challenge’s campaign for an eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi by receiving a Seed Ganesha idol. In a video message recorded at his residence, the actor displayed the natural idol and appealed to people to choose safe clay and seed Ganesha idols for the upcoming festival. He said such an initiative can help prevent pollution while also giving rise to a new plant after the celebrations.

The Seed Ganesha idols promoted by the Green India Challenge are made using natural clay, coco peat and coconut fibre and contain seeds of native trees such as neem and tamarind. After the puja, devotees can immerse the idol in soil at home, allowing it to dissolve naturally and the seeds to germinate. The campaign aims to reduce pollution caused by Plaster of Paris and chemically painted idols in lakes and rivers. Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on Monday, September 14, this year.
