Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha warned that strict action would be taken against those committing atrocities against women. Speaking to the media after visiting Sri Varasidhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple in Kanipakam along with her family, the minister stated that women’s safety has significantly improved under the coalition government compared to the previous YSRCP administration.
She said the strengthening of the forensic system has enabled officials to collect evidence within hours of incidents, resulting in faster punishments for accused persons. According to the minister, those involved in POCSO cases are receiving punishments within three months. Anitha also highlighted the developmental works taking place at the Kanipakam temple and announced that around 190 CCTV cameras have been installed for devotees’ safety, which will soon be integrated with AI technology.
