Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced that the proposed felling of nearly 3,000 trees for the Rishikesh-Bhaniyawala four-lane road project has been temporarily suspended. The Chief Minister stated that the tree-cutting process will remain on hold until a consensus is reached among all stakeholders involved in the project.
Dhami shared the decision through a social media post, highlighting the importance of discussions with all concerned parties before proceeding further. The move comes amid concerns over the environmental impact of removing a large number of trees for infrastructure development.
