Urvashi Rautela vs AI Firm: ₹7,000 Crore Claim Sparks Fresh War of Words

Actress Urvashi Rautela and a Los Angeles-based AI company have become embroiled in a dispute over the alleged use of her name, photographs and videos. Urvashi’s team has reportedly demanded ₹7,000 crore in damages, alleging that her identity was used without permission. The team has also indicated that it is prepared to pursue legal action over the matter.

AI company CEO Shiraz Hasan has now responded to the controversy. He shared an old video in which Urvashi appeared to struggle while answering a question about the impact of AI on Bollywood. Hasan said the company was not attributing statements to her that she had not made. He also argued that AI would bring major changes to the entertainment industry, including the possibility of digitally recreating performances involving deceased actors and enabling actors to speak in multiple languages. Meanwhile, Urvashi’s team has issued warnings over the alleged unauthorised use of her identity, saying the company should build its own brand without bringing her name into its business without permission.
