Union Minister Kishan Reddy has responded to the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices across the country, stating that the increase has come into effect from this morning. He clarified that the decision was not intended to burden the public but was driven by global factors. According to him, the ongoing tensions involving the United States and Iran have significantly impacted crude oil prices, leading to higher fuel costs in India. He also noted that several developed countries, including the US, Germany, and Japan, have witnessed similar increases in fuel prices.
The minister explained that the rising cost of crude oil imports has forced the central government to take this step. He further alleged that opposition parties like Congress and TRS are attempting to politicize the issue for their own benefit. Urging citizens not to be misled by such claims, he emphasized that the government’s decision was based on unavoidable economic circumstances rather than political motives.
