The Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission, Rayapati Sailaja, has made strong remarks stating that women were allegedly attacked during the struggles for Amaravati capital in the previous government, and she too was a victim. She addressed the media in Guntur after reviewing the POSH Act-2013 implementation at the Collectorate. She alleged that during the previous regime, inappropriate comments were made against women and said such conditions do not exist today.
She further stated that the present government will not tolerate derogatory remarks against women, including those made for political reasons. She also mentioned that complaints are being received by the commission but some victims hesitate to share full details due to fear, causing delays in action. She emphasized that the commission is always committed to protecting women and ensuring strict implementation of laws like the POSH Act.
