An intense heatwave in the United Kingdom is severely affecting daily life, with even hospitals struggling to cope. Doctors performing surgeries in National Health Service (NHS) hospitals are reportedly facing extreme heat and dehydration, forcing some to temporarily pause operations to cool down before continuing.

High humidity levels in some operating theatres have even caused moisture to form on surgical instruments, while patients are left waiting in rooms equipped with only small fans
